First of all, I want you to know that I understand how unnerving it can be to take that step to decide to start therapy. It was hard for me the first time, too. And yet, as scary as it can be to begin that journey, the relief and hope that you can find along the way makes it worth it.
The relief people often feel after the first session, realizing that there is hope, that someone understands them, that therapy can really help, often leaves them wondering why they waited so long.
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist. I earned my Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) in 1999 from the University of Denver's Graduate School of Professional Psychology. My B.A. is from Vassar College.
I have experienced being both a stay-at-home mother and a working mother and I understand the challenges and joys of both.
When you change the way you look at things the things you look at change
